The method of commissioning a textile or painting was different with every client and was dependant on a number of factors. However, the basic principle worked as follows...We produced a series of initial designs, primarily based on the client's preferences such as colour or shape. Through discussions, an agreement would be made on a final design proposal whether that be from the original designs produced or from modified designs discussed and agreed by the client - we never pushed the client into making a decision on our suggested design - if they didn't like what they saw, we went away and came back with more until they were happy with the outcome. We prided ourselves on not producing commercial, throw away designs. All commission costs included design work and production. Sometimes we produced textiles from the designs of our clients. |
